7 - Does the law state the maximum number of hours an employee may be scheduled to work within a 24 hour or longer period?

There is no such provision in the law.

8 - How and in what rate can overtime be determined and calculated?

Any hours worked beyond 48 hours per week shall be considered as overtime. This can be calculated at the rate 1.25 from the hourly rate on a working day and 1.5 from the hourly rate on a public holiday.

9 - The law defines Friday as a public holiday. Thus, if an employee has a regular day off on a Friday would they be entitled to another day off? This would therefore mean that the employee would not work on a Friday and also take another day each week.

The employee is entitled for one day off per week. Hence, if a weekly day off falls on a Friday there is no extra off day or payment.

10 - If an employee is on pay leave, and if there is one or more Fridays or other public holidays during that period, then is the employee entitled for the extra Fridays or public holidays accordingly?

Yes.

11 - Is the employee entitled to annual leave upon completion of one year in employment or within one year of employment?

Annual leave will be entitled upon completion of 12 months.

12 - 30 days annual leave - does this include rostered off days or should it be 30 paid days excluding off days?

Off days are not included however all public holidays are included.
